San Diego PodShare is wonderful. Very Clean the staff are amazing, kind and friendly. The neighborhood is safe, quaint and very nice with lots of little shops. Reminds us of a European city. Little Italy is close with the best pizza slices. The ocean is walking distance. I would highly recommend this location to spend a few nights. Very reasonably priced place to stay.

Cabin feel in an urban environment, little Italy is as good as it gets for food and fun. Plenty of space to start your day or unwind from in America’s favorite tourist destination. Everything is an easy Lyft ride away. The attentive staff was helpful

We decided to check out a day earlier than planned due to several issues that made our stay uncomfortable. While the location is excellent, we found the hostel itself to be below our expectations. Unfortunately, it triggered our allergies. Despite having stayed in various hostels worldwide, including Los Angeles, Boston, and New York City, this experience was quite disappointing.

The air conditioning was not functioning during the hot summer days, and the fan provided was excessively loud. The refrigerator was leaking, which caused damage to our food. We reported a clogged toilet to the staff, but the issue was not resolved. Additionally, we noticed staff smoking vapor inside the hostel, which was unpleasant.

The trash cans were overflowing from the evening until we went to bed around 1:30 AM, and they remained unemptied. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday, and it was unfortunate that these issues impacted our experience to the point where we wished to change accommodation.

Found the Podshare hostels through airbnb during the 2024 twitch con. Needed somewhere to stay that was both affordable and near by and the $200 a night for any hotel within 2 miles was not worth it even by friends that did book those places, as the podshare amenities exceeded most of the hotels to include the ones with the $60 a night valet.

Pros and cons of the podshare here.

Pros:
• Accessible to downtown
• Affordable for those just needing a bed inside
• Amazing live-in staff
• Provides multiple amenities akin to apartment living
• Incredible nice views and like-minded tenants
• Entering the pod area is like a welcome home feeling
• Quiet hours are respected (I felt bad for using my light to leave at 1am)
• Any leftover or surplus food is marked as shared by others, so there is minimal waste
• Anytime access to the pod by security code with 24/7 security and camera usage
• Again, it is affordable and perfect for the need in Southern California.

Cons:
• It is hot, but that is mostly due to the amount of body heat the pods generate
• One AC unit for the common area, basic fan for bed areas that is loud but not bad for city life
• Not really near by market or grocery store for those who don't eat out much
• No laundry, but there was a washer and dryer that said staff use only, ask to use. So I can not say if you can actually do laundry here or not
• Last con, check-in times are an 11 hour window, but that is also a Pro

No pictures, other reviews have some good photos, I was just too tired to take any inside that are post quality.

Will return again next time!

I rarely write reviews but, a lot of time was wasted because of this incident and I don't want the same mistakes to happen. I booked the same night I was supposed to stay. On Priceline I had checked and never saw any information about checking in before 11pm, so I arrived later. Wich wasn't too much later (11:30) however a closing time is a closing time. I respect that. So when I got there I rung the bell and called multiple times, no answer. So I had to spend more money and time to stay somewhere else. I tried to cancel before the closing time. I still had to wait for podshares response. For some reason poshare didn't answer any calls or emails but way later the next day. Like around 8pm ish. I spoke to a guy named Michael, he was not sympathetic at all and didn't have a lot of patience for me. Originally I was misinformed from someone at pod share that I could not cancel but I could have my reservation changed over to the next day. Michael ended up helping me out later and had said that I could have refunded. Prior we talked about me just simply having a stay the next day. Which I thought was the plan. However when I got there the kind attendant that worked there texted Michael and he said that I'm not allowed to book with them anymore?
Bottom line is please update your info on priceline it never read anything about closing at 11pm. Also no mention about checking in with a ID before as well. The cancel policy is misleading as well because from what I understand Priceline gets their booking through second third party company.

I am so unspeakably grateful for Podshare!!

I live in LA and needed to go to San Diego for a few nights, so I jumped on the Pacific Surfliner and took the beautiful trip down.

Podshare is so splat in the middle of everything that I was able to stroll from the station easy peezy.

I walk in and internally shriek because the location is gorgeous and the pods are just so cool. There's something so special about co-living like that to me.

Check-in was a breeze, so I get my awesome pod, put my stuff away and wander around gorgeous Little Italy.

Since I saved so much $ on my hotel, I was totally comfortable splurging on food and drinks, and thank goodness because Little Italy is bursting with the cutest spots.

I got what I had to do done, much of which was done by foot (which is a gift given I live in smog-filled LA), and came home to a clean pod and some cool characters.

Personally, when I travel alone I often feel lonely, but this was never the case here.

Easy, cute, convenient. I am definitely coming back, and can't wait for it!!

Very quaint and cozy little spot, great to rest after a day at work. Enjoyed watching the big screen tv and thoroughly impressed with the accommodations.
