I had the opportunity to stay at the Residence Inn San Diego Chula Vista for an extended period on two separate occasions—first in 2021 and most recently in 2024. Each time, I stayed for about two months, and I was consistently impressed with the level of service and accommodation provided by the staff. They honored my room location request, making the experience feel personalized and comfortable.

The hotel itself is located in a beautiful area with convenient access to nearby amenities, which added to the appeal. However, it’s worth noting that the Army National Guard has occupied the hotel extensively. Their presence includes leased vehicles around the property, shipping containers out back, and a headquarters set up in the conference room. At times, it can feel more like an Army barracks than a hotel, especially for those familiar with military environments. That said, I understand they have a mission to carry out, and the service members I encountered seemed professional and well-adjusted.

Overall, if you’re looking for a comfortable and well-situated stay, the Residence Inn San Diego Chula Vista is a solid choice. Just be aware of the military presence, which has been ongoing since at least 2021.

Overall the customer service from Ro the front end manager calling us in advance, to Marisela house keeping (we requested the same person during our stay), and Della breakfast area was exceptional.

The construction next to the hotel was loud and the noise came through the air vent from the stove. We learned to tolerate the noise.

The hotel and staff were wonderful. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The hotel itself is somewhat difficult to get into, made worse by the construction occurring nearby.

Everything about our stay here was fantastic. The customer service was great, and chatting with the staff through the Marriott app was easy and fast. They were so accommodating, friendly, responsive, and helpful. The people at the front desk that helped us with checking in were fantastic (I forgot their names, but they were two ladies that were super friendly). The hotel was quiet and in a good location for our trip to Sesame Street Place, and our room and facilities were new and clean. Breakfast was great and well-maintained. Everything about our stay was great, and we will definitely be back again! Thank you!

Positive: The studio suite was perfect for our stay. It felt like home. The front desk staff was incredible! We arrived 2 hrs early so they checked to see if a room was available and allowed us to check in early. I cannot say ENOUGH great things about this hotel(felt like home) From Ro, Mr. Rojas ALL of the people who work here are the KINDEST, LOVING, and above all make you feel at home. My situation was a little difficult but they were truly supportive I mean Above and BEYOND supportive and kind. My Son and I actually feel like home here. Stay here on a weekly basis now, and was extended during summer . Excellent location, especially to 125. Lots of restaurants local. Tucked in a corner area behind condos, nice and quiet. Rooms are standard Res Inn. Staff is A+. Pool is nice, grille works great for cooking, nice fire pit for hanging out. Laundry is coin (come on, update to digital!), but room and machines are kept up and clean. A+
