This hostel is soooo nice! Beautiful place with a big and functional kitchen. The team is super friendly and helpful at all time. Good little breakfast included. Rooms are very small but functional with fridge and smart TV. Perfect location in a nice neighborhood. We will love to come back. Marianne & Gael

I've been staying at this hostel on and off for the past couple weeks and it has been an amazing experience. My latest stay was for 4 days including Thanksgiving and the entire staff worked hard all day to put on an amazing thanksgiving dinner that made you feel like you were at home. All of the staff were amazing but Andrea really went out of her way to make everyone feel at home and enjoy their stay. She was able to help me out when I needed to make a room switch and was very friendly. Yaddi , Mo and Germin were also very friendly and provided lots of great conversations. The hostel is really close to the beach and close to a grocery store and some nice restaurants. If I ever come back to visit San Diego this will be my go to place to stay!

staff was nice and helpful
but the hostel needs definitely more cleaning hours, i spent 10 nights in the hostel and on my check out date was still the bathroom and the kitchen dirty like at the first day.
the only activity was Taco Tuesday or Karaoke Thursday sad they didn’t have more…

The spot was nice. Bunk bed style in a dorm.

I liked the vibe and extended my stay. Yaddy and Marcy made me feel welcomed.

Chilled in the outside patio area. Talked to interesting travelers.

Came to San Diego for the first time for a wedding and heading back home the next day. I’ve never stayed in a hostel before and didn’t know what to expect. this place was awesome, all staff are super friendly, guests were also very friendly, the room had 4 bunks, bed was actually very comfortable, and lockers to keep stuff safe (although i felt very safe here). they provided breakfast, there’s also a supermarket a block over, down the main street there’s a bunch of coffee shops, small restaurants, and corner stores. the area was very nice! i can’t think of any negative thing about this place. the planes are kinda loud but being close to the airport is super convenient. i will definitely come back next time i come here!

This hostel is both a fantastically maintained place, and it is a home to some truly heart-warming, and compassionate people who run, and manage California Dreams Hostel.

Yaady- super friendly front desk assistant- and the manager Marcella handled my last minute reservation in a timely manner, and resolved all of my special inquiries in the most friendly, compassionate, and supportive manner you could possibly imagine while traveling.

All of the facilities are immaculately clean, and fresh despite the number of occupants. The kitchen is spacious, it feels at home, and it literally invites you to cook. The team members have a regular calendar of really fun events, and they engage guests with both outdoor activities, and art projects, and even karaoke. Broadway lovers will certainly feel at home.

This place is all about good people taking care of the travelers while creating a sense of community, and a mutual support system for those who cross paths with them. It really is a very special, and a unique place. Thank you Yaady, and Marcella, and everyone involved! I will be coming back!

Lovely place. People were super friendly, the beds and towels smelled nice, and it had a great atmosphere. I traveled here by myself and if I come back to the area I’d be happy to stay here again. 10/10 will be back

It was decent for the location and price, the staff is 50/50 a couple of real nice ones and a few not so. I did notice the staff vapes in the back yard but guest are not allowed. My main issue was my first night a homeless guest with a lot of stuff I was in the same bunkbed with yelled at me in the middle of the night in the bedroom, and got in my face, like wanting to fight me over the bed shaking, and the staff did not take it seriously. I had to deal with him for a few days in the same room and he threw my stuff on the floor one day. I'm quiet and keep to myself but I did bring it up to the staff the next morning.
