Beautiful location but not a warm welcome. Our order was taken by a lady with glasses (I did not take her name) we ordered drinks alone as we were not yet ready to eat, she pulled a disappointed expression and said they are not a bar and we need to order food too, this is understandable but she could have been a bit friendlier. We ended up ordering cheese and breadsticks for €20 which is quite expensive for what it is. Felt as though unless you are running up a bill you are not wanted.

We just finished our stay with our 3 daughters April 2024. Every single staff member was so kind, accommodating and helpful. The rooms beautiful and cozy, food and bar service excellent and location perfect. We already can’t wait to plan another visit. Thank you so much!

Abbiamo mangiato a pranzo e siamo stati benissimo. Servizio educato e professionale, materie prime di qualità e piatti veramente buoni. Il panorama stupendo. Super consigliato!

Very nice hotel in Varenna. Great location, excellent customer service. We were in a double room with lake view and balcony, which had a king sized bed. Room and bed were comfortable and rooms were clean. Bathroom and shower were a bit cramped, on the small side (particularly the shower - you can't open the doors all the way). Wifi is a bit slow as well, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Ceiling height is good if you are on the taller side. Very reasonably priced. |Pros:|- breakfast spread and service is lovely|- phenomenal views|- aperitivo only for hotel guests; we were able to bring friends not staying at the hotel to enjoy the view! |- 24 hour front desk; all the staff we interacted it with were so helpful|Cons:|- No elevator to our room|- AC was turned off for the season, but it was a bit hot; kept the doors open for ventilation which sufficed but let in mosquitos|- I found the booking system a bit archaic... you email them, they email back, then you send a form with your credit card info over... not my favorite process for security

This is first time to Lake Como, and our first time staying at the Hotel Du Lac Varenna, Italy. This is by far one of the lakes best hotels, beautifully situated in the town of Varenna. From the time we arrived by car, the service was first class.||We were lucky to be upgraded to a lovely large room located on the 3d floor with a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. |The Restaurant Du Lac is amazing. The views of the lake will take your breath away. Guests staying in the hotel have access to the terrace restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks and snacks throughout the day. ||We will be back! We feel in love with this boutique hotel. It was clean, charming with breathtaking views. The staff made us feel so welcome and were very helpful with suggestions and making reservations for us. We loved the terrace, it felt like you were next to the water. We enjoyed spending time there having a drink or their delicious breakfast, my husband said they had the best coffee in Italy. We hope we visit again soon!

Absolutely amazing place. Service was unrivaled. Tatiana was particularly amazing and helpful! She helped us out of a jam after we had already checked out. I can’t recommend this place enough!

My husband and I totally enjoyed spending 4 nights in a room described as Double room with lake view and balcony. The rate was 235 euros/nt. The room has a king bed. The bathroom is small with a small shower. The balcony, with the amazing view, is above the Terrace Room. That room has a very large terrace. The balcony for our room was wider, but not deeper than the balconies of the 2 rooms on either side. There is no elevator to the rooms but the staff help with bags. There is an elevator to the covered parking 25euro/day.|Daily breakfast on the terrace or inside was a wonderful way to start our day. We also had a great lunch there. Dinners are highly rated but we didn’t eat dinner there. |The hotel is in a great location if you don’t have a car. We took the train from Milan Centrale and then walked about 10-15 minutes to the hotel. There are taxis available. We also took the train to Tirano and took a regional train on the Bernina Express route. |The staff here is very helpful and very pleasant. We would stay here again if we ever return
