We so enjoyed returning to Il Pero for a far too short break. As always the welcome was warm and hospitality exceptional. We plan to have a special family birthday there next summer so it was great to sit down and plan the festivities. We look forward to that pig roast by the pool gazing out over the Tuscan hills! We once again stayed in the romantic tower room and enjoyed William's expert scrambled eggs every morning and then his dinner recommendations for the evenings. It's such a wonderful location with Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno all close by. You don't need to stay any where else if you are coming to Tuscany!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a very long weekend and we absolutely loved it. So much so we didn't want to leave! ||The family are delightful, the views to die for and it is complete and utter tranquility! ||You can do as little or as much as you like. There is lots to see in the local area - from culture to great markets - but we were pretty lazy and just enjoyed the pool with quick trips to pick up supplies when needed! There are some lovely restaurants that Will and Miranda can recommend. True Tuscan style food. ||Make sure you don't miss out on the sunsets - the most memorable views in Tuscany!||Can't wait to go back!!

Our stay at Il Pero exceeded our expectations. From the family welcome to the beautiful county side. The accommodation and service were excellent. However it was the hospitality shown by William, Miranda and their two girls that made our stay exceptional. After initally viewing a television program on this property and the Taxis family we made the decision that we would like to stay here. William has done an amazing job at restoring this once derelict property.||||We stayed for four very pleasant days in L'alba with a double bedroom and bathroom upstairs and combined lounge/dining/kitchen downstairs.||||Miranda was very helpful with organising our booking and giving us advice on travel to the area. William was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. He gave us excellent advice on dining options, shopping and sightseeing. This was a delightful rural experience after staying in busy cities and villages in various Italian regions.||||When you are travelling for a number of weeks and dining out for the majority of your meals It was nice change to be able to cook our own meal on a couple of evenings. ||||You do need your own transport when staying here. ||||One day we caught the train from the local station into Florence which made a day trip there very easy. The journey was approximately 1 hour each way.

Crisp white cotton sheets , comfortable beds. nothing is too much trouble .Stunning pool which this year is on the edge of a field of sunflowers which opened in our honour .Good to have the owners on hand to help with restaurant bookings and local knowledge.They were so flexible and happy for us to stay Tuesday to saturday which we then changed to Sunday.We just didnt want to leave............We plan to go back to this Tuscan dream.
